You practice one of 330 great occupations that require years of preparation. What things most helped you to succeed in training for your profession and in practice of your profession?
Interning at Fox 17 News and The Onyxtn, An African American culture based magazine, watching my parents work for the betterment of our lives. I enjoy writing from my perspective as a young African American woman. I encourage more minorities to enter my field because everyone must have strong speaking skills to succeed in the professional world, no matter their trade.
The biggest challenge students face in preparing for my field is possibly getting over the fear of public speaking. A lot of Americans share this apprehension.
I would encourage those that want to be in this field to make as many connections as possible and to intern for free if possible.
In order to achieve, one must be persistent. Life is full of pitfalls and those that cannot adjust will be left behind.
