What I Really Enjoy About My Field
What I enjoy most about my field is the flexibility. I can turn Family Medicine into just about anything I want. This is especially important when it comes to rural medicine. You can be a jack of all trades.
My Achievement Story in Brief
Early experiences that motivated me were the lack of representation in the medical field where I am from and also all of the disparities I saw while growing up in rural Louisiana. The impact that I have made on so many people just by making it this far is priceless.
The Biggest Challenge Students Face
The biggest challenge I think students face is access. This could mean access to the best teachers, resources, and even communities that are conducive to great learning environment. Being a former teacher myself, and also a student in low socioeconomic environment, I have seen first hand the challenges that one must overcome to be successful.
